So far, 2015 has been an amazing year for beach communities like Millville by the Sea in Sussex County, Delaware! The growing interest in Sussex County is not only due to the availability of beautiful new beach homes, but the tourism of the area has seen a lot of growth as well. Many factors have contributed to the success of the county, and it does not seem to be slowing down!
At the beginning of this year, Sussex County’s Department of Tourism launched a new campaign in order to attract residents and tourists to the area. Since the campaign started in January, their website traffic has increased by 100% each month! These numbers directly compare to the upward trending numbers in tourism for the year. Incentives such as low gas prices, tax-free shopping, and large events have paved the way for Sussex County to be the new “it” spot to vacation. Additionally, much of the growth of Sussex County is driven by award winning beaches, exclusive shopping, and spectacular restaurants. In fact, coastal towns like Dewey, Rehoboth, and the highly praised Bethany Beach, are being known as the “culinary coast”. This local phenomenon is largely due to the increase in chefs and restaurant owners who are opening businesses that you would find in large cities, but at more affordable prices.
Summer is not the only season to enjoy everything that southern Delaware has to offer. What locals call the “shoulder season” is continuing to gain momentum every year. Any Millville by the Sea resident will tell you that the events don’t stop when the summer is over. Through the fall, winter, and spring months, the area offers a wealth of fun and interesting events, and at Millville by the Sea, we offer year-round events and amenities for our residents to enjoy!
If you stumbled upon our blog article, Sussex County Real Estate – “A Hot Market”, then you already know that the real estate market in Sussex County is booming!
